A Postdoctoral Associate position is available in the laboratory of Hamed Jafar-Nejad, M.D. in the Department of Molecular & Human Genetics, Baylor College of Medicine. The laboratory uses cell culture, Drosophila, and mouse genetics to identify and characterize genetic modifiers of human developmental disorders in order to shed light on disease pathophysiology and establish new therapeutic strategies. 

The Postdoctoral Associate will lead a newly funded NIH R01 project dissecting the SOX4/SOX9 transcriptional regulatory network in the context of biliary development and Alagille syndrome (ALGS) and will advance the therapeutic potential of targeting this network in ALGS and other cholestatic diseases. There will also be opportunities to contribute to related ongoing projects in the lab.
