The Department of Cell Biology and Human Anatomy at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor position in the Ladder or combined Ladder/in-Residence Professor series. The department seeks an outstanding scientist whose research will strengthen and complement existing programs in developmental biology, neurobiology, vision research, stem cell biology, gene editing, and disease modeling. Applicants with expertise in nanoscale imaging, advanced image analysis, computational biology, genomics, or systems biology are particularly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain an innovative, extramurally funded research program while fostering interdisciplinary collaborations across the School of Medicine, School of Veterinary Medicine, College of Engineering, Centers for Neuroscience and Vision Science, and the
Institute for Regenerative Cures. Responsibilities also include excellence in teaching medical and/or graduate students, mentoring trainees, providing university service appropriate to career stage, and contributing to a collegial, collaborative, and inclusive academic environment committed to diversity and excellence.

Applicants must hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree and have at least two years of postdoctoral experience. Competitive candidates will demonstrate a strong record of research creativity, independence, productivity, collaborative potential, and effective teaching and communication skills.
