Part-time online team teacher sought for Developmental Biology course for Ph.D. students in Reproductive Clinical Science at EVMS School of Health Professions, Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia.
A new co-teacher is sought for this course in the Spring Semester, 2027. I have directed the course for 8 years, currently with 2 co-teachers. Students are clinical embryologists working in IVF laboratories. We aim to train them in basic developmental biology, how to read and analyze journal articles, write about research, and present and discuss basic science papers. We focus on understanding mechanisms using cell and molecular biology approaches and techniques. Classes are held in the evening (7-9 pm EST) in weeks when faculty or students are presenting a journal article.
The benefit to the teacher is experience teaching graduate students and mentoring them in writing and presentation skills.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. and strong research experience using vertebrate embryos. Previous teaching experience is helpful but not required. Please send C.V., statement of research experience and interest, and teaching experience, if any, to Dr. Earl Godfrey at [email protected]. Include contact information (email, address, and telephone number).
