WMed seeks an accomplished leader to serve as Chair of the Department of Biomedical Sciences. Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer and appointed by the Dean, the Chair will provide visionary leadership, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and oversee biomedical science faculty and curriculum.
Key responsibilities include faculty recruitment, mentorship, and evaluation; curriculum development and management; oversight of educational innovation; and advancement of interdisciplinary research. The Chair also serves as Assistant Dean for Foundations of Medicine, ensuring alignment with accreditation and institutional goals. Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, leadership, and service, and be a role model for faculty and learners.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate in a basic science discipline (PhD or MD/PhD)
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
- Qualified for Full Professor appointment
