Assistant or Associate Professor Developmental Biology

The Department of Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for two full-time tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning in August 2024.

Developmental Biology. The successful candidate must have expertise in the broad fields of reproductive and/or developmental biology.
 
Required Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate from an accredited institution.
  • Candidates for the assistant professor position will be expected to have a minimum of 2-3 years of post-doctoral experience, applicants at the associate professor level will be expected to be within 3 years of a previous appointment at that rank.
  • Record of scholarship, teaching, and professional service commensurate with the rank of assistant or associate professor.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills; and
  • Evidence of successful grant writing experience.


A complete application consists of a single PDF file containing a:

  1. Cover letter briefly addressing qualifications listed above (~1 page),
  2. Current curriculum vita,
  3. Statement of research accomplishments, interests, and plans (~2 pages).
  4. Statement of teaching experience and philosophy (~2 pages).
  5. Statement describing past, current, and/or proposed efforts to encourage diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM (1-2 pages)
  6. Names and contact information for at least three references who will provide letters upon request from the search committee.
