The Department Oral & Craniofacial Sciences of the UMKC School of Dentistry is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Research Assistant. The lab is focused on developmental, mineralized tissue and craniofacial biology research. The successful candidate must be able to work in a team setting and overall be neat and organized.
Primary responsibilities:
- Cell culture
- Live cell imaging
- Performing routine experimental procedures using avian eggs (including setting, windowing, staging, injecting, surgeries, tool making, supporting a clean environment)
- Organizing and drafting materials for research papers and/or presentation
- Keeping a thorough lab notebook
- Ordering supplies
- Scheduling lab meetings
- Helping to keep the lab benches clean and supplied
- Autoclaving
- Sectioning and paraffin embedding
- Making and changing solutions
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree
