Dr. Xinwei Cao is seeking a Scientist/Lead Researcher for her lab in the Department of Developmental Neurobiology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The Cao lab studies the molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate the development of the vertebrate nervous system, with a special focus on the fundamental mechanisms governing the properties and functions of neural stem/progenitor cells. The Cao lab also investigates the molecular mechanisms and biological relevance of hypertranscription, a poorly understood phenomenon that involves a coordinated increase in the expression of the majority of the transcriptome.

As one of the premier pediatric diseases research institutes in the world, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital provides exceptional resources and a supportive environment for career development.

Competitive candidates should have a strong background in developmental biology and molecular biology and experience in molecular, cellular, biochemical, imaging, and/or computational techniques. Recent publication in relevant journals is required.
