The Department of Biology at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee is seeking applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2023. 
 
Candidates are invited to submit applications to join the Biology Department at Belmont University, a collaborative group of ten faculty that serves a diverse population of undergraduate science majors.  Our faculty provide high quality learning experiences in a small class environment and engage undergraduates in various scientific research experiences.  Job responsibilities for this position include teaching undergraduate courses in Human Anatomy & Physiology, and/or Developmental Biology.  This position will also contribute to introductory biology courses for majors and non-majors and courses within the general education curriculum.  Additional teaching responsibilities may include upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise that support and complement current departmental offerings.  Full-time teaching load is 24 hours per academic year.  The successful candidate(s) will develop a robust research program that engages undergraduate students.  Preference will be given to candidates using Zebrafish as a research model, as the department has a fully functional zebrafish facility and a system for embryonic microinjections, though faculty utilizing other model systems bringing novel areas of research to the department will also be considered.  Additional responsibilities include academic advising, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and departmental, college and university service.  Ph.D. or progress toward a terminal degree is required; teaching experience strongly preferred.  As all Belmont undergraduates complete an innovative general education program with significant interdisciplinary components, Belmont University is seeking applicants who can demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses in this program.  For additional information about the position and to complete the online application, candidates are directed to https://jobs.belmont.edu
