The Department of Cell Biology at University of Virginia’s School of Medicine invites applications for  new tenure-eligible faculty positions on the Academic Investigator track.  Academic rank and tenure status will depend on qualifications and experience.  Successful applicants will be expected to build and maintain cutting-edge research programs in the broad areas of cell and/or developmental biology, and to participate in graduate and medical school teaching missions.
 
Investigators in the Department of Cell Biology use diverse model systems to address a variety of questions in cell and developmental biology. Current research strengths and interests include membrane trafficking, cytoskeletal dynamics, cell adhesion and motility, cellular homeostasis, mechanotransduction, cell fate specification, morphogenesis and regeneration, developmental genomics, and stem cell models of development and developmental disorders. Candidates working in these and other areas of cell and developmental biology are encouraged to apply.
