The Zohn laboratory is seeking a highly motivated, intellectually driven and creative postdoctoral fellow for a project to elucidate the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying to neural tube closure defects in a mouse model. Neural tube defects are among the most common birth defects in humans.  This project will investigate the role of cranial mesenchyme expansion in elevation of the neural folds. 

The Zohn Laboratory is located within the Center for Genetic Medicine at Children’s National Hospital located in Washington, DC., a diverse research institute focused on understanding disorders that affect pediatric patients.  For more information about the laboratory and our previous publications click the link above.

Priority will be given to applicants with training in Developmental Biology, Mouse Genetics, Advanced Imaging Techniques, Biochemistry, Molecular or Cell Biology.  The position requires strong written and oral communication skills, proven success with research publications and the ability to work independently as well as within a research team.
