The Biology Department at Pacific Lutheran University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor beginning September 1, 2019. The successful applicant’s annual teaching responsibilities may include Genetics or the General Biology sequence as well as upper division courses in Developmental Biology and topics complementary to the candidate's area of expertise. We seek applicants dedicated to engaging undergraduates in research experiences as part of their scholarship.  A Ph.D. and a commitment to undergraduate teaching, advising and liberal arts education are required.   • Ph.D. in Developmental Biology or a related discipline
  • Ability to teach Developmental Biology, Introductory Biology, Genetics and advanced courses in their area of expertise
  • Promise as an innovative and effective classroom instructor
  • Commitment to engaging undergraduates in research experiences as part of their scholarship.
  • Ability or desire to fully contribute to the department and the University by working with individuals of diverse backgrounds
  • Previous teaching and course design experience at the undergraduate level is preferred
