PhD or Postdoctoral Position / Organ Regeneration, Munich, Germany

Posted 8/24/2017

We are looking for candidates to take up a PhD or postdoctoral position in the López-Schier laboratory at the Helmholtz Zentrum in Munich, Germany.

The project aims at understanding the fundamental bases of sensory-organ regeneration and multicellular self-organisation, using the lateral line of the zebrafish as experimental system. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of computer programming and optics, but this is not essential. The team’s projects are interdisciplinary. We use spinning-disc and light-sheet microscopy of zebrafish lines genetically engineered to express fluorescent sensors in subsets of cells, genome engineering to inactivate gene function or to modify cellular activities, laser nanosurgery, and single-cell genomics.
