The Nance lab is recruiting motivated and creative Research Specialist to join their group, which is relocating the the University of Wisconsin - Madison in November 2023.  We use the nematode C. elegans to investigate the formation and morphogenesis of organs during development. Current projects focus on development and function of the embryonic gonad, the acquisition of cell polarity, and how biological tubes form during development. The Research Specialist will combine live-imaging approaches, genetic analysis (including CRISPR gene editing), and cell and molecular biology methods to contribute to research projects in these areas. This is an ideal position for a recently graduated student to gain additional research experience before applying to graduate school.
