The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of South Carolina (UofSC) invites applications for a 9-month, full time, tenure-track Assistant Professor OR tenured/tenure-track Associate Professor position in Developmental Biology in the area of regeneration to begin August 16, 2023. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Biology or related discipline. Candidates for Assistant Professor must have at least two years of post-doctoral research experience by the start date of employment and publications in a relevant area of regenerative biology. Candidates for Associate Professor must have at least six years of post-doctoral experience by the start date of employment, a strong publication record, and evidence of successful research grant funding.  
 
The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain an extramurally funded research program that integrates molecular, cellular, and organismal scales of biological organization. We are interested in applicants who will stimulate exciting new collaborations and complement existing research strengths in stem cell and developmental biology, cellular stress, cancer biology, neurobiology, systems biology, evolution, and disease mechanisms. Applicants using non-traditional or traditional model organisms are encouraged to apply. Along with the research expectation, the successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their area of expertise and will mentor research by undergraduate and graduate students.
