A fully funded postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Neil Chi’s lab at the University of California, San Diego to study cardiovascular regeneration/reprogramming, gene/stem cell therapy and disease in humans, large animals, mouse, zebrafish and stem cells. The Chi lab uses the latest cutting-edge technologies (single cell multi-omics, spatial transcriptomics, CRISPR-based tools, 3D bioprinting, organoids, etc.) to uncover the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved with cardiovascular regeneration, development and disease with the overall goal to translate these findings to treating/curing human cardiovascular diseases (heart failure, cardiac hypertrophy, cardiac arrhythmias, congenital heart disease, myocardial infarction, vascular diseases, etc.).
Skills and Knowledge Required/Preferred: The candidate is required to have a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree. Experience with genomics/epigenomics, bioinformatics, molecular biology, regenerative medicine, human pluripotent stem cells, genome-editing, gene therapy, bioengineering, cardiovascular biology and/or animal models is preferred but not required.
