MAKEUP: Mechanics of Actin and Keratin filaments in the Embryo amnion, Umbilical cord, and Placenta

The extra-embryonic membranes provide protection, nutrition, and gas exchange. We aim to understand the molecular determinants underlying their high resistance and elasticity. Experimental approaches will include live imaging, transcriptomics, proteomics, and biophysics.

Profile
-Researchers with a doctoral degree acquired within the last 5 years; experience in cytoskeleton biology and/or biophysics would be an advantage.
-Researchers in an international mobility situation, who have not resided or carried out their main activity in Belgium for more than 24 months during the three years preceding the starting date.

Offer
-A 3.5-years contract with a competitive salary, ideally starting before 09/2022
-A multidisciplinary dynamic environment, and the opportunity to collaborate with leader scientists in embryo imaging, cytoskeleton biology, and biophysics

Application
Please send a motivation letter, a CV with a list of publications, a summary of past research, and contact information of at least two references to Isabelle Migeotte ([email protected]). Selected candidates will be invited for an interview virtually or in Brussels.
