The laboratory of Dr. Scott Parnell in the Bowles Center for Alcohol Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a post-doctoral researcher for one of several different NIH-funded projects. The Parnell lab researches genetic and mechanistic aspects of fetal alcohol syndrome and other developmental toxicants. We use a variety of techniques such as RNA-Seq, transgenic mice, cellular and molecular biology, cell culture, and behavioral phenotyping. We are searching for a highly motivated developmental biologist to study the genetics or mechanisms of action of alcohol or other drugs, such as cannabinoids, during early embryonic development. This position is available for at least two years with further years dependent on mutual agreement. If interested, please submit a cover letter, including your research interests, curriculum vitae, and names and contact information for three references to Scott Parnell at sparnell@med.unc.edu.
