A postdoctoral scholar position is available at the University of California, San Diego in the Laboratory of Dr. Xin Sun, Professor of Pediatrics and Biological Sciences. The SUN lab focuses on disease mechanism studies, using interdisciplinary approaches to explore intersections of developmental biology, stem cell biology, genomics, epigenetics, neuroscience, immunology and physiology.
Specific areas of investigation include:

  1. Sensory and immune perception of the lung
  2. Long-term outcomes of prematurity
  3. Cellular and molecular feedbacks in building the lung
  4. Modeling of patient variants for disease mechanisms.

The laboratory is situated at the heart of UCSD Medical School, adjacent to highly skilled collaborators with exciting technologies at the forefront of science. Salary is supplemented above NIH scale to adjust for California cost of living on a postdoc stipend.
