Stem cells and regeneration in annelids
 
The Seaver Lab at the Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience, a research institute of the University of Florida, seeks to hire a highly motivated postdoctoral scholar to work on the experimental analysis of regeneration and the role of stem cells in the annelid Capitella teleta. The successful applicant will be expected to work independently and possess a strong work ethic. Candidate should have a PhD in Cell, Developmental, or Molecular Biology. Proven experience in either functional genomics, experimental embryology or marine invertebrate development is strongly preferred. The researcher will benefit from a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment and this position provides an opportunity to initiate an independent research program. The Whitney Lab is situated on barrier island near historic Saint Augustine and has strengths in evolution and development, regeneration biology and comparative and functional genomics. Salary is dependent upon experience and based on the NIH postdoctoral scale.
