Tenure-Track – Biological Sciences (Genetics/Developmental)

Humboldt State University invites applications for an academic year tenure-track faculty position in Genetics/Developmental Biology. We seek to fill this position at the Assistant Professor rank; however, rank and salary are dependent on the appointee's qualifications and experience. An earned Ph.D. or equivalent in Biology or related field from an accredited college or university is required at the time of appointment.

Instructional assignments may include: upper division courses in Genetics, Animal Development and one or more upper-division or graduate level courses in a specialty area such as Bioinformatics or Evo-Devo, and a seminar for first-year students.

The Department of Biological Sciences is known for providing students with balanced and well-rounded degrees in Biology, Botany, and Zoology; also an active graduate (Master’s level) program in Biology. Resources for study include the following: molecular biology and tissue culture facilities; scanning and transmission electron microscopes; the newly renovated Telonicher Marine Laboratory, with opportunity for culture of marine organisms; a 90 ft. oceangoing vessel; and environmental chambers.
