The School of Medicine of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a well-qualified academic leader to serve as Chair of its Department of Genetics. The department has an exceptional faculty whose expertise ranges across the discipline from quantitative approaches to human genetics with a major emphasis on mammalian genetics and models. The Chair of Genetics is responsible for the overall management, budget, personnel, resource allocation, academic planning and implementation for the department. The Chair is to provide leadership and direction in research, education, and professional missions of the department.

Minimum qualifications include a PhD and/or M.D. degree.  Must have a distinguished and creative record of research accomplishment, administrative skills, and a commitment to education and diversity.
