SDB 73rd Annual Meeting in Seattle

The late abstract submission deadline for the  73rd Annual SDB Meeting to be held July 17-21, 2014 at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA is May 23. The University of Washington housing reservation deadline and the pre-meeting registration deadline is June 24 Renew your membership today for reduced registration rates!  The application deadline for the 5th SDB Boot Camp for New Faculty (July 16-17), is June 6.  


Satellite Sessions

Three satellite sessions will take place on Thursday, July 17 prior to the commencement of the SDB 73rd Annual Meeting.  The sessions are free, but pre-registration is required when registering for the annual meeting.  For program information go here.

  • SDB-NAVBO joint session: Stem Cells in Cardiac/Vascular Development and Repair, Organizers: Stephen Schwartz (U Washington) and Mary Dickinson (Baylor Coll Med)
  • Satellite Workshop: Using CRISPR/Cas9, Organizers: Geraldine Seydoux (JHU) and Daniel Dickinson (UNC)
  • Satellite Symposium: Human Development and Disease, Organizers: David Beier (Seattle Children’s Res Inst) and Mark Majesky (Seattle Children’s Res Inst)

2014 USA Science & Engineering Festival Report

All current SDB members can vote for President-elect, Treasurer, and Representatives for the Midwest, Northeast, and Southwest regions.  If you are a current member you should have received an email with a unique link to the ballot.  If you did not, contact SDB at [email protected]. The election deadline is June 16, 2014.

Did you know?

  • SDB members can apply for non-SDB meeting grants to fund member-organized conferences central to developmental biology.  Deadline: May 31, 2014.
  • SDB members are eligible for travel awards through the FASEB MARC Program
  • SDB will provide travel assistance for Latin American investigators to visit a host lab in the US or Canada to learn new techniques or approaches in developmental biology with the SDB Latin American Short Visit Grant.  Proposal deadline: May 31, 2014.
