Dorit Zuk to Direct NIGMS Division of Genetics and Developmental Biology


The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) Director Jon R. Lorsch, Ph.D., has selected Dorit Zuk, Ph.D., to direct the Institute's Division of Genetics and Developmental Biology (GDB).

Dr. Zuk is a molecular biologist whose research has focused on muscle development and RNA metabolism. She also has a strong background in science policy and communications.

Dr. Zuk is currently director of the Office of Policy, Communications and Strategic Alliances at NIH’s National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences. Prior to serving in the government, she worked in scientific publishing as the deputy editor of Cell and later the editor of Molecular Cell.
